The members of the Pastoral Council serve as the representative body of the people of Saints Mary and Joseph Parish.
The role of the council is to meet with the Pastor to enhance and expand the decision-making process for:
The Pastoral Council is tasked with planning and recommending ways for the parish community to accomplish the mission of Christ. The council works to keep the parish community focused on knowing and loving God, loving others, and doing God’s will by leading others to Christ so that we may grow as a community of disciples.
There are currently eight lay members on the Pastoral Council. Each member generally serves a 3-year term, although shorter terms are occasionally available. Additionally, our pastor can appoint up to 3 additional members at his discretion.
In the past, membership on the council has been reached by nomination, discernment, and an election process that is held each year during the first two Thursdays in May. Due to Covid-19, this procedure has not taken place since 2019. There are currently no plans ro reinstitute this process.

The Pastoral Council meetings are held at our St. Joseph location (North Campus) in the Family Room at 7:00 PM. The next meeting is not yet scheduled.
